Job Description

As a Security Officer – Armed Corrections Facility - Day Shift in Whiteville, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment within a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, remaining highly visible to help deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. This is an armed post that also requires driving, so you will be entrusted with both patrolling on foot and operating vehicles as part of your duties. You will interact with staff and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding the values of integrity, teamwork, and reliability that define Allied Universal. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the assigned government location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain a visible presence.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports on incidents, observations, and patrol activities as required by Allied Universal and site protocols.
  • Assist with access control, verifying identification, and managing visitor entry in accordance with site policies.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and law enforcement as needed during security-related incidents and emergency situations.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to a variety of situations, adapting to the unique needs of a government environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
  • Must possess a valid armed guard card and/or license.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
