Job Description

As a Security Guard - Access Control - Weekdays in King William, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Food/Beverage, and more.

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a leading food and beverage location, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a welcoming environment. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols throughout the premises to help protect people, property, and assets. You will use technology such as computers or tablets to support access control procedures and respond promptly to incidents or requests for assistance. In this role, you will interact with employees, visitors, and vendors, providing outstanding customer service and clear communication. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
• Monitor access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and maintain a secure environment within the food and beverage production location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business premises and perimeter to observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns.
• Document and report all observations, incidents, and activities according to Allied Universal and client procedures.
• Communicate professionally with employees, contractors, and/or visitors regarding access control procedures and site expectations.
• Assist with emergency response activities as required by site-specific protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Experience in loss prevention is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
