Meta is seeking a manager with extensive experience investigating and analyzing financially motivated actors on our Financial Threats team in Integrity Investigations, Intelligence and Events (i3E). This person will be responsible for supporting, developing, and scaling a threat investigations team with the goal of proactively identifying and responding to threats posed to Meta’s community of users. The team investigates and mitigates complex threats from scams and fraudulent activity, advances investigative methodology, and uses innovative research approaches to protect users. - Support a team of security engineers and security analysts who discover, detect, investigate, and respond to threats from financially motivated actors
- Influence the organization’s vision and strategy, while engaging the team to develop and deliver specific roadmaps and projects. Ensure prioritization, resourcing, and timely delivery of work within a dynamic business environment.
- Coach, mentor, support, and care for the team to enable long-term career development and success at scale.
- Monitor and analyze operational metrics, key performance indicators, and team health.
- Collaborate with and influence other teams to address challenges posed by a broad spectrum of threat actors through informed investigative findings and key intelligence.
- Build, cultivate, and maintain positive relationships with internal partners to bolster the impact of the team's work.
- Identify and develop areas to scale aspects of our investigations.
- BA/BS or Master’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of work experience, including hands-on technical management, experience leading global security/investigative or integrity teams, and proven contribution at both strategic and operational levels.
- 3+ years experience of people management and organizational leadership.
- Experience working cross-functionally with security engineers, analysts, product, engineering, legal, policy, and communications.
- Experience in functional or scripting language (JavaScript, PHP, Python, OCaml, etc.).
- Knowledge of or experience in fraud and scams issues, or similar.
- Experience translating tactical findings into scaled solutions.
- Experience querying large data sets and SQL.
- Experience working with diverse communities and global teams.
- Demonstrated interest in understanding the intersection of global security risks and technology, especially as it pertains to Meta.
- Experience in crisis management or incident response environments.
- Experience “threat hunting”, i.e. using threat intel to proactively and iteratively investigate potential risks and finding suspicious behavior.
