THE OPPORTUNITY
Silvus is looking for a full-time Security Coordinator to learn from and work with our outside security consultant to manage our security programs, procedures, and controls and assist employees in obtaining and maintaining personnel security clearances. Prior experience is not required for this role, as our outside consultant will provide training and close guidance to a candidate who fits the role.
The Security Coordinator reports to our General Counsel. The position is full-time, on-site daily, Monday through Friday. The location for this role is Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of vibrant West LA.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Train with our facility security consultant to learn the rules and procedures for maintaining our facility security clearance.
- Conduct independent learning and training to improve expertise in security best practices.
- Work with our facility security consultant to maintain the company’s facility security clearance and assist employees in obtaining and maintaining personnel security clearances.
- Maintain all security documentation and files independently and without supervision in accordance with Defense Security Service (DSS) requirements.
- Maintain classified holdings and prepare classified transmittals in accordance with NISPOM guidelines and requirements.
- Assist in conducting annual self-inspections as required by the DSS and other reviews as directed by the government.
- Independently manage day-to-day operations of a cleared facility, such as submitting visit requests for US and foreign travel and managing internal security tracking documents.
- Ensure annual security training requirements are met and kept up to date.
- Supervise daily security activities and enforce government and company security policies.
- Manage the ITPSO responsibilities to schedule relevant insider threat meetings and gather information across the facility (e.g., human resources, security, information assurance, legal) to support the identification and assessment of insider threats.
- Proactive identification of facility-related safety, security, and logistical issues and coordination with other teams to promptly resolve them.
- Support with other various administrative tasks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an office manager, office coordinator, or similar role.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US DOD Secret Security Clearance.
- Ability to complete required FSO training.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and as part of a team.
NOTE - Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts. Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance is required. Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check.
