Through innovative, compassionate, and community-based services, we empower the people we serve to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. Position SummaryCopa Health is seeking a proactive and experienced Security and Safety Manager to lead and oversee the organization’s safety, security, and risk management programs. This role is based at our administrative office in Mesa, AZ and requires regular travel to programs and sites across the Phoenix metropolitan area. The role requires a balanced approach that prioritizes safety while fostering a supportive, trauma-informed, and person-centered environment. The Security and Safety Manager will focus on prevention, de-escalation, and collaboration—ensuring a safe environment for employees, members, and visitors across all locations while aligning with Copa Health’s core values. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead organization-wide safety and security programs, policies, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Oversee security systems, including alarms, cameras, access controls (keys/fobs), and related vendor coordination
  • Manage access to alarm systems, codes, and camera footage authorization
  • Ensure fire alarm systems meet licensure and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and oversee driver safety training, including for large passenger vehicles
  • Conduct site audits, investigations, and incident response across multiple locations
  • Partner with leadership to support proactive, non-restrictive safety practices
  • Deliver training on safety, emergency preparedness, and de-escalation
 Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in safety, security, law enforcement, corrections, healthcare, or behavioral health
  • Experience with safety compliance, investigations, and de-escalation approaches
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly (driving is an essential function)
  • Relevant certifications preferred
