Section Engineer

Section Engineer - Aberdeenshire

Astute's Power team are currently recruiting for a Section Engineer to support an infrastructure project in Aberdeenshire. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to oversee setting out, quality control, site safety and programme delivery, ensuring construction activities are completed to the required standards.

Role responsibilities and key skills:

Carry out complex setting out and establish primary setting out control for construction activities.

Support and coach site team members in setting out techniques.

Produce Activity Control Plans and maintain comprehensive quality records.

Identify, raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports and Technical Queries.

Prepare Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Temporary Works Briefs.

Manage visitor inductions, support accident reporting and identify potential site hazards.

Understand and operate Permit to Work systems, raising permits as required.

Produce weekly programmes, monitor progress against KPIs and communicate targets to the workforce.

Collate weekly measurement information and monitor wastage against budget allowances.

Carry out labour and plant reconciliations, identify additional work and raise the necessary notifications.

Work with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual terms, conditions and outputs.

Essential experience: Complex setting out, construction tolerances, Activity Control Plans, contract documentation and an understanding of 13-week stage programmes.

Location: Aberdeenshire

Rate: £45 per hour

Contract length: 12 Months
