World Learning seeks a Seasonal Program Officer (Seasonal PO) to lead and manage The Experiment Digital, a program sponsored by the Stevens Initiative and the Department of State. The Seasonal PO will manage the day-to-day implementation of The Experiment Digital, specifically the United States/MENA program. This includes developing and delivering the curriculum, monitoring program facilitators, and managing an international team of contractors. The Seasonal PO will report to the Senior Program Officer, who oversees the entire portfolio of The Experiment Digital.


ABOUT GLOBAL PROGRAMS

This position will be a part of the Global Programs unit of World Learning which designs, implements, monitors and evaluates global development and exchange programs. We work with various donors, including the U.S. Department of State to achieve immediate impact and sustainable outcomes. Consistent with our organization's status as both a global nonprofit and an accredited institution of higher education, we prioritize experiential programs that are grounded in theory, proven in practice, and lift up all voices.


Responsibilities

Recruitment and Admissions

  • Support the recruitment of participants and the development of participant recruitment strategies; this includes developing recruitment materials, implementing workshops, and collaborating with Program Staff, global staff and contractors;
  • Manage the application review process in Salesforce; this includes overseeing the application review portal, providing technical support, reviewing applications, and assigning applications;
  • Assist prospective participants in understanding the application process and ensuring all applicant materials are complete and accurate;
  • Record all contact and effectively track communication in Salesforce; and
  • Manage new outreach contacts for virtual programming across the MENA regions.

Program Design and Management

  • Oversee the development and implementation of The Experiment Digital program, which focuses on leadership, civic engagement, college/university and career readiness, digital communications, and alumni support such as responding to participants and facilitators within 24 hours, facilitating online program and alumni workshops and events, and creating communication posts in the program platforms;
  • Implement workshops and informational sessions to encourage educators to share and recruit students across the U.S. and MENA region to apply for The Experiment Digital;
  • Manage and administer program platforms; responsible for day-to-day program operations for Program Staff, facilitators, participants, and Peer Mentors;
  • Work with students across countries in the Middle East, North Africa and the United States during program implementation; encourage high levels of interaction and engagement;
  • Maintain communication with on-call team during program implementation; utilize support of on-call team and escalate high level incidents where appropriate;
  • Serve as on-call and risk management support to facilitators during the program - this includes seasonal nighttime and weekend shifts;
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator on monitoring, evaluation, data collection, and analysis using surveys and analytics and in partnership with stakeholders;
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all policies and procedures as laid out in the Youth Exchange Team Handbook and additional policy documents (updated annually);
  • Review, edit, and create content for the Youth Exchange Team Handbook as assigned; and
  • Manage other tasks as assigned.

Grants Management

  • Ensure that the Stevens Initiative grant guidelines are followed, and deliverables are met, working collaboratively with the Aspen Institute and the U.S. Department of State;
