Summary

Reporting to the Cutting/Silkscreen Supervisor, this position is responsible for making, maintaining, reclaiming, and storing all screens for the screen-printing process.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates screen requirements with the Cutting/Silkscreen Supervisor to meet production schedules.
  • Interfaces with the graphic art department on the screen making capacity and capabilities for new product development.
  • Solicit feedback from the Silkscreen operators to identify any premature screen breakdowns, mesh selection problems or to get recommendations for future changes.
  • Stretch all frames with the understanding of mesh counts and tensions.
  • Remove stains and degrease all frames.
  • Forecast any potential problems before the burning process.  Consult with graphic art department with any film discrepancies.
  • Burn film positives into the coated screens and wash out the images.
  • Monitor inventory and maintenance of burned screens, repairing or replacing as necessary.
  • Scrapping and cleaning screens as required.
  • Fill in other areas when absences occur.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures own production conforms to requirements of quality and schedule
  • Inspects input/output quality requirements on all units processed.
  • Follows approved procedures to complete all tasks.
  • Maintains work area in a clean, repaired and organized manner.
  • Handles and stores all regulated materials in compliance with company policy, state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to work overtime as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

Education & Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent
  • Must have training in screen making and graphic arts.
  • Must have strong understanding of manufacturing and processes.
  • Graphics background preferred
