About the role

The Impact You’ll Make

Serna Bio is building the world’s first map of the druggable transcriptome, systematically opening up the universe of RNA biology to small molecule drug discovery. Using our Discovery Platform, we are tackling the classically intractable targets ranging from coding and non-coding RNA. In this role, you will be:

  • Mapping and monitoring project progress against baseline and follow up as needed with individuals across the company to ensure timely completion of project deliverables
  • Collaborating project progress on drug discovery target work both in-house and in with Contract Research Organizations (CROs), towards the progression of our early drug discovery programs.
  • Playing a leading role in project design, experimental planning and data analysis/ interpretation
  • Growing and learning quickly while adapting to evolving ways of working in a startup environment
  • Curating project management plans aligned with business needs

The Team You’ll Join

As a Senior Project Manager at Serna Bio you will be a key member of the Translational Biology team. The team is responsible for accelerating our drug discovery programmes into clinic.

In a hands-on and fast paced role, you will be responsible for directly impacting the progression of our early stage drug discovery pipelines by managing multiple cross-functional projects. At Serna, project teams are highly dynamic and require interfacing with various subject matter exports in domains ranging from biology and chemistry to engineering and business. This role entails delivering consistent, professional support on projects involving external stakeholders like CROs and academic collaborators.

Requirements

The Experience You’ll Need

  • 5+ years project management experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry focussed on drug development
  • Master’s of Science or PhD (in Molecular biology, microbiology and/or immunology or some related field)
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies
  • Ability to create and develop hypotheses, study designs and/or methods based on technical experience
  • Ability to manage meetings and CROs / vendors
  • Experience in developing and executing project plans incorporating all activities required, including critical path analysis
  • Identification of project risks and development of risk mitigation strategies; working with others to resolve issues and remove barriers
  • Experience in identifying and executing efficient project plans containing activities which will successfully meet desired Objective Key Results (OKRs) and project milestones
  • Able to effectively govern external collaborations and fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders involved in projects
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining documentation and preparing agendas, decision/action logs, presentations, and status reports
  • Gantt chart creation with the ability to implement critical path analysis using Google Sheets
  • Familiarity with various project management software tools

Bonus Skills

  • A background knowledge of cancer biology would be highly advantageous
  • PMP® certification or additional program management training

  • Exceptionally detail oriented with a love for organization
  • Excellent communication skills - able to present findings whilst working collaboratively within the organization
  • Comfortable with juggling activities and can (re)prioritize effectively
