Dallas Regional Medical Center is a 202-bed acute care hospital accredited by The Joint Commission that offers a wide range of medical services including 24/7 emergency care, cardiology, wound care, surgical services, cardiac catheterization, and imaging. The hospital is the only Certified Stroke Center, Accredited Chest Pain Center, and Labor and Delivery Unit in the area. Responsibilities

The Surgery Scheduling Coordinator routinely books surgical cases for pediatric, adolescent, adult and older adult patients for the OR and the G.I. Lab. Coordinates and confirms the acquisition of services, equipment, instrumentation and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries. Prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on call list to appropriate departments or personnel. Checks, enters and reconciles the daily patient charges. Prepares and distributes the monthly surgical statistics. Updates the Surgery Schedules and completes the required Log Book. Answers phones and appropriately communicates messages. Assists OR Director and Charge Nurse with additional clerical duties. Works with coworkers, other departments and outside companies, assisting with the provision of safe, efficient and quality patient care.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Previous experience in a Medical Care Setting.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Strong clerical and computer skills.
  • Command of the English language.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Previous experience in the OR preferred.
  • Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
