Job Summary

The Scale House Operator will obtain required information from customers for all transactions, completes required purchasing and shipping documents, and conduct daily reconciliations. Collect paperwork, weights, and load information, and record into database.

Essential Functions

• Ability to differentiate between aggregates, grades, sizes, and textures of materials.
• Responsible for verifying receipt of all payments from customers and providing billing information to the Accounting Department.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Answering calls and taking customer orders.
• Provide exceptional customer service through greeting and directing all customers upon entry of the landfill.
• Verify incoming loads are safe and do not contain unacceptable material.
• Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Provide general upkeep of the scale house.
• Must be able to obtain accurate customer information as well as concise directions for service.
• Must be able to keep filing of operations up to date and organized.
• Maintain accurate customer database and utilize POS systems.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Competencies or Experience Requirements

• Three to five years of experience in an administrative support position.
• Experience working with various computer systems and programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & Teams as well as Clover).
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED and relevant work experience.
