SAP Technical Lead

The SAP Technical Lead shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Leading technical design, development, implementation, and maintenance of SAP systems and solutions within the organization. This role collaborates closely with business stakeholders, functional teams, and IT support to ensure SAP solutions align with business requirements and support operational excellence.

Key responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership:
  1. Solution Design: Lead the technical design and architecture of SAP solutions, ensuring alignment with business processes, technical standards, and best practices. 
  2. Development: Oversee SAP development activities, including customization, enhancement and integration of SAP modules and components.
  3. Technical Guidance: Provide guidance and support to SAP developers and technical teams, ensuring adherence to coding standards, performance optimization and quality assurance.
• Implementation and Development:
  1. Project Management: Lead SAP implementation projects, coordinating activities, resources and timelines to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
  2. Configuration and Customization: Configure SAP modules (e.g., SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA) based on business requirements, ensuring smooth integration and functionality.
  3. Testing and Validation: Conduct system testing, integration testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate SAP solutions and ensure reliability and performance.
• Maintenance and Support:
  1. Incident Resolution: Provide technical support and troubleshooting SAP systems, resolving issues promptly to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
  2. Performance Monitoring: Monitor SAP system performance, identify areas for optimization and implement performance tuning and enhancements as needed.
  3. Upgrades and Enhancements: Plan and execute SAP system upgrades, patches, and enhancements, ensuring system stability and compliance with SAP’s support and maintenance policies.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
  1. Business Alignment: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, prioritize initiatives and deliver SAP solutions that meet business objectives.
  2. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with function teams (e.g., Finance, HR, Supply Chain) and IT teams to integrate SAP solutions with existing systems and business processes. 
  3. Change Management: Manage change requests and ensure changes to SAP systems are properly documented, tested, and implemented with minimal disruption to business operations. 
• Documentation and Training:
  1. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, system configurations and support procedures.
  2. Training: Provide training and knowledge transfer to end users and support teams on SAP functionalities, best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  1. Quality Standards: Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, standards and methodologies throughout the development lifecycle.
  2. Compliance: Ensure SAP systems comply with regulatory requirements, data privacy laws and security standards applicable to the organization. 

Required Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in SAP ABAP programming, SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP HANA, and SAP integration technologies (e.g., SAP PI/PO).
• Experience with SAP modules such as SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/BI, SAP CRM, or SAP SCM.
• Knowledge of SAP development methodologies, tools and best practices for custom development and system integration. 
• Proficient in numeration.
• Proficient written skills.

Required Soft Skills:

• Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead SAP implementation projects from inception to completion.
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams, vendors and stakeholders to deliver SAP solutions that meet business requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate with business users, functional teams and IT support teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
