About the Job

This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position. 

Schedule: Saturday, Sunday, and 2 additional days during the week We require a minimum of four (4) shifts.  We are seeking individuals with flexibility to accommodate our production cleaning needs. 

 

Hours: 6:00 pm to 4:30 am

 

As a Sanitor, you will be responsible for the sanitation of the dry and wet mix plant and the upkeep of the grounds/offices surrounding the facility.  Our Sanitors adhere to all sanitation standards established by IFS and Food Safety Policies, and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and our Plant Safety Policies.

 

What Does It Take to be a Sanitor at Dawn Foods? 

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.  

  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions in English to follow safety precautions 
  • Able to work as part of a team 
  • Experience with GMP's, IFS Standards, understanding HACCP programs and plant safety preferred
  • Previous experience in sanitation preferred
  • Ability to perform and demonstrate lock out tag out on equipment authorized to LOTO preferred
  • Forklift certified or have the ability to become forklift certified
  • Able to work effectively in situations involving heights

 

What You'll Do as a Sanitor 

  • Completion of tasks in the appropriate amount of time according to the Master Cleaning Schedule
  • Janitorial duties such as cleaning all restrooms, vacuuming, emptying trash, sweeping and mopping all areas, and dusting all office areas and breakrooms.
  • Stripping and waxing of the lobby, R&D lab and offices, Dry Lab, Break room 3, wet QA lab, and production office (One Sunday a month).
  • Sweeping and cleaning of the smoking area
  • Refill all hand soap and paper towel dispensers in all areas of the facility, this includes production areas.
  • Supply inventory of the Janitorial closet and the extra storage areas.
  • Deep cleaning and sanitizing of Process/production lines when not in use.
  • Scrub floors using floor scrubber, mops and buckets.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, plant policies and plant procedures.
  • Report malfunction of equipment immediately to supervisor.
  • Maintain work area to include the proper cleaning and storing of work tools and chemicals.
  • Pest Control
  • ATP testing
  • Tower cleaning
  • Cooler and freezer cleaning
  • Cleaning of racks, pipes, and overhead fixtures/beams.
  • Upon completion of training, the ability to clean the silo rooms.
  • Upon completion of training, the ability to clean, foam, and sanitize processing equipment.
  • Facility upgrade work (as directed by the supervisor, production manager, or facility manager)
  • Adhere to the Food Defense and Security functions within the facility.
  • Other duties assigned to you by your Lead, Supervisor, or Manager.
