About the role

The Sanitation Department Attendant is responsible for cleaning all areas of the Buckner facility, to include mechanically assembling and disassembling machines & equipment and daily sanitation. Additional responsibilities include adherence to Sanitation, Safety, and GMP Standards.
This position reports to the Sanitation Supervisor. In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (Saturday OT) 2p-1030p

Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $22.00 Per Hour + $0.75 Shift Differential

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the production facility of the Plant in a manner consistent with all companies, customers, and governmental policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.  
  • Maintains working knowledge of machines and cook areas pertaining to Sanitation.
  • Responsible for cleaning production lines, including all equipment, machines, conveyor belts
  • Responsible for cleaning accompanying areas to productions such as floors, drains, and walls.  Cleans overhead fixtures, fans, vents, and heating units as determined by the Master Sanitation Schedule or as needed.  
  • Understands the use of each cleaning agent utilized, When to use these cleaning agents and the proper use of these chemicals.
  • Safely operates necessary equipment to meet the needs of the assigned task, such as floor scrubbers, scissor lift, skyjack, forklift, process equipment, cleaning tools.
  • Completes all paperwork timely and accurately. 
  • Remains current on all required training to include Computer Based Training and job validation training
  • Follow the Company’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, and Code of Ethics.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Good verbal & written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to various levels of the organization
  • Self-starter with flexibility to meet challenging priorities. 
  • The ability to prioritize tasks, pay attention to details, and function well in a high-paced environment.
  • Perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately. 
  • Validation on position required after initial training.
  • Able to work mandatory overtime, including weekdays and Saturdays/Sundays, as determined by business needs. 
  • Works independently as well as effectively in a team environment.

Education & Experience:

  • One year of manufacturing experience preferred. 
  • 3+ Years experience cleaning facilities preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 60lbs and occasionally lift and/or move in greater than 65lbs. 
  • Must be able to perform the following:  standing, climbing, pulling, and or pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and stooping.
  • Good hand/eye coordination, motor skills, 20/20 corrected vision and hearing within the normal range.
  • Must be able to read, perform accurate math functions, understand, and abide by Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Environmental, Health and Safety Requirements:

  • Must wear all required personal protection equipment associated with specific manufacturing work environment and job duties as stated in the Employee Handbook, policies, or as assigned by leadership personnel.
  • Maintain clean and safe working environment 
  • follow all safety policies and procedures, such as lock out/tag out, safe lifting techniques, and all others as instructed.
  • Inform Management of any food safety or quality issues or of any processes which become noncompliant with specified requirements.

Food Safety:

  • Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required. 
  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
