Opening in Fall 2025, Omni Fort Lauderdale will provide South Florida with 120,000 square feet of event space, new food and beverage options, a Natural Spring inspired full-service spa and entertainment pedestrian plaza featuring high-end shopping, amphitheater, charter boat docking and beautiful promenade. The new iconic landmark offers unforgettable views of the Atlantic paired with unrivalled convenience and intelligently designed meeting spaces. The hotel will be directly connected to the Broward County Convention Center, immediately adjacent to Port Everglades cruise terminal and less than two miles from Fort Lauderdale Airport.

 

Job Description

The Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel is seeking an organized and detailed property based Sales Manager (10-199) to join the opening team of our brand-new luxury resort! 

 

The purpose of this role is to assist the Director of Sales and Director of Sales & Marketing in implementing the strategies and tactics designed to maximize group revenue. Successful results are reflective in exceeding budgeted revenues and annual performance goals. This individual will work in collaboration with the Director of Sales and Marketing in creating a highly energized direct sales culture. Success is determined through improvement in the hotel’s group revenue performance as compared to that of its defined competitors.  

 

Our ideal candidate has demonstrated consistent performance for a minimum of 3–5 years, exhibiting success in the Group Sales arena. While not in a supervisory role, this individual is a leader in performance and is aptly capable to represent Omni as a leader in the marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full maximization of room potential in both occupancy and revenue.
  • Implement strategies/action plans to generate revenues for the hotel.
  • Active solicitation of accounts to generate direct sales, with emphasis on key accounts in territory.
  • Work closely with the Catering Sales, Conference Services Department, and Reservation Sales Department to maximize revenues; maintain positive interdepartmental communications; contribute to the overall direction and operation of the hotel and to effectively control and minimize all marketing expenses while exceeding overall budgeted revenues and occupancy.
  • Maintain Sales Team’s focus on a proactive solicitation environment.
  • Promote high visibility of hotel through active involvement in industry associations and trade shows.
  • Solicit accounts within the assigned market segment.
  • Prospect and develop new accounts in line with the hotel's stated mission statement and booking guidelines.
  • Maintain aggressive weekly telephone, site inspection and personal call goals.
  • Negotiate, prepare, and review terms of contracts for hotel services in compliance with Hotel billing and rate guidelines and under supervision of Director of Sales
  • Use all prospect sources as laid out in the Sales Action Plan.
  • Follow up promptly on leads generated by the Global Sales offices within 24 hours.
  • Achieve budgeted room rate and revenues based upon seasons.
  • Knowledgeable of the subtleties inherent in the assigned market segment and of the role it plays in maintaining the profitability of the hotel.
  • Participate in the development of direct mail and all promotions related to the assigned market segment needs.
  • Is current with all market-related publications to stay on top of all industry trends and uncover any potential leads.
  • Achieve targeted referral goals for all Omni Hotels.
  • Monitor Reader Boards of competition for potential sources of new group business.
  • Support and promote all corporate programs to increase customer awareness of Omni Hotels and ensure that the customer receives the appropriate benefits of each program.
  • Maintain product and assure the protection and cleanliness of the owner’s physical assets.
  • Ensure thorough communication to Conference Services, Reservations, Accounting regarding the group’s unique details in the turnover process.
  • Be visible while the client is onsite.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Group Sales Manager in a high-volume upscale convention hotel required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Must be a self-starting team player that contributes positive energy. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team oriented environment. 
  • Excellent ability to conduct group presentations, written and oral. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and reprioritize when necessary.
