United Integrated Services (USA) is seeking a Safety Technician Lead to join our team! 

The Safety Technician Lead will ensure project compliance with OSHA, company and jobsite safety policies and procedures and support Safety team initiatives to proactively promote safe workplace practices and prevent, mitigate, educate and resolve unsafe acts or conditions. This role leads our Safety Technicians and works closely with project teams to prevent, mitigate, educate, and resolve unsafe conditions or behaviors.

** This is a full time onsite position located in North Phoenix, AZ (85027).** 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervise and mentor a team of Safety Technicians, ensuring consistency in safety enforcement and education.
  • Develop, implement and administer safety prevention plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure timely submission of safety reports, statistics, and supporting documentation in alignment with company and client requirements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement corrective measures for potential safety and health hazards.
  • Provide safety technical expertise and support to assigned projects(s).
  • Promote safety, and safe work practices through coaching and proactively addressing any safety concerns that can result in potential injury or material damage.
  • Assist in the investigation of work-related injuries, illnesses, and near-miss incidents.
  • Enforce corrective action to prevent the recurrence of hazardous conditions or behaviors.
  • Practice timely and accurate accident reporting.
  • Review all accidents and investigation reports.
  • Act as liaison between the company and client as it relates to site safety.
  • Assist in identifying, correcting, and mitigating routine, and non-routine safety and health hazards.
  • Council and coach craft workers to gain compliance with the accident prevention plans, policies and procedures.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety health hazards.
  • Conduct job site inspections and audits to establish and evaluate the level of compliance.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.         

Education/Experience:

    • High School diploma/GED.
    • 3+ years construction safety or equivalent work experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.

Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong understanding of Construction safety practices and procedures.
    • Ability to mentor and coach. 
    • OSHA30 Construction Certification, required. CPR/First Aid/AED certified a plus
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
    • Ability to use engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Primavera, or others.
    • Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught or through on the job experience
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • High level of attention to detail, and highly organized.
    • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
    • Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities depending on project needs. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, and employees.
    • Ability to develop and maintain successful relationships with all levels of employees, clients, and subcontractors.
    • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a professional attitude.
    • Ability to work in a construction site environment (trailer office).
