Overview

The Safety Supervisor directly assists the General Manager in overseeing safety compliance and culture across the division. This role is responsible for evaluating, coordinating, and leading safety programs and activities to ensure consistency and effectiveness. The Safety Supervisor also identifies and drives ongoing efforts to continuously improve overall safety performance.

Responsibilities

• Assure a uniform and consistent approach to Safety Compliance (Safety Calendar requirements, Safety Audits, OSHA)
• Oversee and assess the development of Take Control of Safety initiatives to drive the safety culture
• Lead & support Safety Coordinators
• OSHA, Health, & Safety Recordkeeping and Reporting
• Partner with department managers to provide oversight, guidance, and development for Safety Coordinators, encouraging continuous improvement by building on strengths and addressing growth opportunities
• Responsible for all corporate and OSHA-required written safety program updates and overall implementation
• Assure accident investigations are conducted, and corrective actions are consistently followed up within the division
• Promote cross-department collaboration to share technology and best practices 
• Ensure appropriate management of external PSIF events
• Assure required safety training (new hire orientation, ongoing monthly, job-specific, etc.) is performed throughout all departments
• Effectively collaborate with the division nursing staff
• Supervise the division's Safety Clerk

Qualifications

Required:

• Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Ability to skillfully organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects
• Influential and passionate leadership traits.
• Able to travel – intercompany, education, & benchmarking

Preferred:

• B.S. in a safety-related field
• Certified Safety Professional
• 5 years of experience in a safety-related field
