Job Duties

Central State Hospital (CSH) is a 270 bed, Joint Commission accredited public psychiatric facility. The hospital serves individuals who are civilly committed and in need of treatment, and/or individuals involved in the criminal justice system who need treatment and/or pre-trial evaluation.

The facility is currently recruiting for a Safety and Security Technician to transport patients housed in the Maximum Security Unit safely and securely to various destinations on and off campus and to provide therapeutic and physical interventions when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

- Requires basic knowledge of state laws and driving skills.
- Requires the ability to: Communicate both orally and in writing, use good judgment, Lift heavy objects, bend at waist and knees, walk or stand a minimum of 90% of the time on the shift, use upper extremities (hands) to hold, grasp and manipulate work materials, administer CPR, and to work overtime hours.
- Ability to perform and adapt to new software and hardware technology to perform the duties of this role including but not limited to computers and scanners.
- A valid Driver's license is required
- Experience in Security and Mental Health experience

Additional Considerations

- Experience in Security and Mental Health in an inpatient hospital setting is preferred.
