WHAT YOU'LL DO:
As a key member of the team, the Safety Manager takes charge of planning, developing, and driving a comprehensive workplace safety and environmental health program for a Federally Qualified Health Center. This includes leading disaster readiness efforts and establishing the policies and procedures to ensure seamless execution. You’ll be the champion of safety across all Elica Health Centers locations, delivering measurable success in workplace safety and environmental health metrics.
Collaborating closely with performance improvement initiatives and organizational goals, you’ll work in synergy with the Human Resources and Compliance teams to guarantee the highest levels of employee safety and active participation. Lead the way in creating a safe, proactive, and empowered workplace!
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The ideal candidate will be ready and able to:
- Lead and coordinate Elica’s safety program and manage a team of floor wardens to ensure a safe working environment.
- Design, develop, and implement training programs for employees in areas like compliance standards, hazardous material handling, emergency response planning, industrial hygiene, and life safety, utilizing local, national, and online resources.
- Proactively identify and communicate risks to staff, patients, guests, and the physical environment through work orders, emails, and inspection documentation, ensuring timely responses and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Operations, and Facilities departments to track and ensure health and safety hazards are addressed effectively and swiftly.
- Develop innovative, cost-effective strategies for managing and minimizing risks while maintaining safety standards.
- Be a key team player in developing solutions for processes, procedures, and training related to safety requirements.
- Build strong relationships with local leadership teams and act as Elica’s representative with city and county offices.
- Deliver exceptional internal customer service by serving as a go-to consultant and resource on environmental management, industrial hygiene, and workplace safety.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws by helping to develop policies and procedures that minimize environmental, workplace safety, and health liabilities.
- Partner with Facilities, HR, and Compliance Directors during regulatory inspections and surveys, ensuring readiness and compliance.
- Communicate safety strategies and priorities to management teams and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Conduct comprehensive audits of Elica’s EH&S programs, identifying opportunities for improvement in both processes and physical conditions, and creating actionable plans to address any gaps.

Requirements
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years of professional safety experience, with at least one year in a healthcare environment.
- Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting is highly preferred.
- A proven track record in leading change management initiatives, including the development and implementation of policies and procedures across large, complex organizations.
- Strong experience in collaboration, consensus building, influencing, and partnership development, with a solid service-oriented mindset.
Education:
- A BA/BS in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, public health, or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience may substitute for
