About the role

The Safety Lead will oversee all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment, and associated regulatory compliance for all internal and external employees working on the Company site and ensure all sites are operating at the highest standards to protect employees, the public and the environment. Support the Safety Manager by managing, planning, and implementing programs to reduce or eliminate occupational injuries, illnesses, deaths, and financial losses. 

  • Coordinate, and manage initiatives related to the Retail Division’s safety program.
  • Provide advice and training on safety protocols and conduct audits to ensure compliance with company and government standards.
  • Identify areas of opportunity for continuous improvement with the safety program.
  • Ensure successful execution and ongoing OSH compliance for safety and training agenda within all levels of employees and site management.
  • Facilitate training associated with safety procedures and programs.
  • Ensure completion of required safety and training documentation and reporting metrics. 
  • Assist in the development of incident prevention into operational policies of organization.
  • Collaborate and support operations by being present in various work locations and job sites to provide guidance and support on safety and environment. 
  • Complete incident investigations and develop impactful corrective actions.
  • Counsel and coordinate safety activities, through subordinate supervisory personnel, to ensure implementation of safety activities throughout organization.
  • More 5 Years leadership experience in a Health and Safety related role. 
  • Occupational Health and Safety designation, such as CRSP, CHSO or equivalent is an asset. 
  • Exeptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to influence and build consensus within a diverse group of employees and leaders.
  • Experience with Intelex or a similar Safety Management System.
