SA Project Management Operations Senior Manager (E5914) - 250139: MGT-B50
The incumbent in this position will be responsible for leading and maintaining IEEE SA's strategic project management, providing oversight, tracking and coordination of the portfolio of these key initiatives. This function will aid in developing a dedicated and disciplined course of practice that will optimize resources and enhance the agility of project decision-making through accurate and effective executive and management reports, utilizing influence and leadership skills to help lead projects of importance, and delivering successful results that are on time, on budget and within scope through strong project management skills.. The role will be responsible for interfacing across the IEEE SA and IEEE, to support the sourcing of accurate data as close to the proper-timeframe as possible.
The role will provide a holistic view across strategic activities that may have intertwined dependencies, shared resources, and external visibility, requiring adept engagement across the organization to assure goals and deliverables remain on time, on budget, and of high quality. Dashboard reports on project and portfolio status and performance will be developed and managed for reporting to the IEEE Managing Director, with the necessary data for decision making by the SA leadership team. These dashboard reports and views will provide a balanced scorecard approach, including financials, market-facing (internal and external), and selected operational data in an elegant and efficient reporting dashboard. The incumbent will develop and own the process regarding the information reflected.
The incumbent will have a deep understanding of IEEE SA business processes, risk, management, understanding of revenue gains and losses, and effective resource management, to help aid in a more accurate depiction of the state of the IEEE SA initiatives which is to be provided to the SA MD. The scope of the role will include overseeing key projects, managing their delivery results through effective project management, and accurate reflection of status through the development and quality of reports based on meaningful and contextual information made accessible through business intelligence tools.
This role will project manage resources, plans, timelines, roadmaps, deliverables and will be asked to share functional resource reviews. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing 1-3 direct reports (staff/contract consultants).

Key Responsibilities
- Specific duties include but not limited to:
- Implement, oversee and lead the development of a disciplined project management approach to IEEE SA strategic initiatives.
- Actively engage across all SA project managers and external stakeholders to help assure alignment on project goals, deliverables and resource management
- Overseeing the development and quality of dashboard reports based on meaningful and contextual information for use by the SA Managing Director and leadership in making business decisions on the strategic portfolio
- Engage with SA governance volunteer stakeholders where they are directly involved with strategic projects, in a firm, but diplomatic approach
Qualifications
Education- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Req
- Master's or other advanced degree Pref
- 7-10 years Project/Program Management, with extensive customer facing experience Req
- Ability to work through ambiguity and work diplomatically across the department and the Organization
- Must be curious, detail-oriented, and constantly applying a proactive approach to ensure that optimized outcomes and continuous improvement are engrained in the SA project management culture
