About the role
- Assist with the coordination and administration of the route bid process as directed by the Transportation Manager.
- Determines delivery routes for the transportation of grocery products to stores.
- Coordinates backhaul schedule with buyers and distribution center to ensure inbound deliveries coincide with outbound shipments. Monitor performance and expense.
- Identifies priorities, utilizes available resources to meet these priorities and enlists outside assistance to meet demand.
- Assigns relief/replacement drivers to scheduled routes and store sets.
- Provides timely communication of critical events that need to be considered and/or addressed by Management.
- Coordinate all inbound freight through our Emerge platform
- Ensure all invoices are paid and maintain from outside carriers
- Manage RFP and relationships with third party carriers.
- Optimize route efficiency by strategically adding and removing stores across all three distribution centers.
- Develop and maintain load maps for all distribution center routes.
- Continuously fine-tune routes to improve warehouse and transportation efficiency.

Compensation:
$54,300-71,300 Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.
QualificationsStrong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Possesses strong analytical skills. Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented with the ability to work independently. Ability to listen to issues/concerns and quickly respond to needs by notifying appropriate person and/or using Company procedures. Proficient in Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Working knowledge of state motor vehicle laws. Bachelor’s degree or at least one year of experience with transportation planning and procedures preferred.
