About the Team

When you choose Lakewood Health System for surgery, you’re in the hands of experienced, board-certified surgeons backed by highly trained support teams and innovative technology—all at a convenient location close to home. Our surgical teams use the most advanced and least invasive techniques possible.

Lakewood operates three operating rooms Monday through Friday, from 7:30am-3:30pm. On-Call staff is available for emergency procedures on weekdays after 3:30 p.m., and 24 hours a day on weekends and holidays. Many procedures can now be done on an outpatient basis, allowing the patient to do most of the recovery at home. Our Outpatient Department, which is our pre-and post-surgical area is open from 6:00am-5:30pm to take care of patients before and after surgery.

The Outpatient RN will provide an exceptional surgical experience for patients that aligns with Lakewood Health’s mission, vision, and values from admission, to discharge, and after care.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assess and care for the total patient on their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs during their surgical experience.
• Provide continuity of care by following surgeon orders upon admit, recovery, and discharge of patients.
• Monitor for ongoing issues and potential problems and intervene based on the assessment(s).
• Ensure that documentation contains all pertinent information as an accurate reflection of the care provided.
• Promote and support the Nursing Practice at Lakewood Health System.

Position Type

0.8 FTE, 4 days per week with varying start times and rotating late shifts to cover patient needs, no weekends nights, holiday, or call.

Qualifications

• Maintain an active Minnesota RN license
• CPR Certified
• ACLS Certified or obtained within 6 months of hire
• PALS Certified or obtained within 6 months of hire
