This 100-bed hospital serves the communities in and around Martin County. Here, you will work alongside passionate physicians, nurses and other caregivers in a family-oriented, supportive environment.    

As an RN on the Code Blue/Rapid Response Team at Martin South Hospital, you will provide urgent medical attention to patients in danger of dying, often due to cardiac or respiratory arrest. In this role, you will assess health condition to determine the best mode of treatment to initiate, whether via CPR, intubation, defibrillation or medication administration. Your work is critical in ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes, allowing you to make a difference in your community every day.

This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working nights between 7:00 p.m. -- 7:30 a.m. with weekend requirements.

 
A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Provide direct nursing care. 

• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.  

• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.  

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments. 

• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

• Educate patients and their families.   

 
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program) 

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 

• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

• One year of current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting OR licensed military RN experience

• Two years of ED or ICU experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
