Job Description
The Resource Database Analyst curates and maintains the community resource database used by WithinReach staff, partner organizations, and families across Washington. This role is additionally responsible for data management tasks.
The optimal candidate has a background in data management and lived experience accessing health and social service systems and/or professional experience in successfully building strong relationships with communities of diverse cultures and identities including, but not limited to; racial, economic, ethnic, language, gender, sexual orientation, and/or immigration status. This role interfaces with technical and non-technical staff, vendors, and partners.

Responsibilities
- Maintain database of nonprofit, charitable and government service providers (50%)
- Routinely review and update records for completeness and accuracy
- Research new resources to add to database using phone, email, and internet research
- Phone and email outreach to service providers
- Create concise descriptions that accurately summarize agencies’ programs and services
- Index services using a standardized taxonomy
- Perform routine data management tasks (25%)
- Compile, merge, restructure, normalize, and sort data from diverse sources
- Accurately format and review spreadsheets for import into database
- Routinely review data exports to identify and delete duplicate data
- Maintain style guide/data dictionary to ensure consistency
- Communicate and build effective relationships with internal staff and external partners (15%)
- Support training and onboarding of resource database coordinators
- Responds thoughtfully to internal and external requests for resource additions or updates
- Identify quality improvement and training needs
- Communicate effectively and translate technical information to non-technical staff
- Collaborate with Senior Manager and Director of Data Systems and Evaluation to improve functionality of resource search tools.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience or interest in incorporating principles of IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access) and data equity into day to day work
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel or similar database software
- A basic understanding of relational databases
- An interest in information organized using taxonomies.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent customer service skills and written/oral communication
- Ability to handle multiple, concurrent projects and meet deadlines.
- Preferred: 1-2 years’ work experience in social or human services utilizing culturally competent approaches, with some knowledge of Washington state benefit programs such as WIC, Basic Food, Medicaid and support programs geared for families and children.
Additional Information
Salary & Benefits: ($62,000 -$65,000, Full-Time, 40 hours/week. Exempt. Excellent benefits include fully paid medical coverage, vision and dental for employees and generous coverage for spouses, partners and dependents. Work Location: This position has a remote, office-based, or hybrid option. This position requires access to reliable internet connection and the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
