Resident Assistant Professor - Physics

Description

The Department of Physics at Creighton University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Resident Assistant Professor for a one-year appointment.  We seek individuals with effective communication skills who are committed to being outstanding teacher within a primarily undergraduate-serving college. The successful applicant will teach a 4-4 load that includes 1st year foundational courses in General Physics as well as upper division courses depending on departmental needs.    

Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in physics (or a closely related field) is preferred, ABD will be considered
• Ability to foster student learning, development, and decision making in support of their goals, success, wellness, and needs
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop rapport quickly and effectively with a diversity of populations
• Empathy and compassion for the experiences of others
• Familiarity with modern teaching strategies developed by Physics Education Research; evidence of college level teaching experience is preferred
