Research Technician II - Grill Lab

The Grill Lab at Seattle Children’s Research Institute is seeking a Research Technician II. The Grill lab is a growing research environment with an enthusiastic, positive scientific climate. This position will focus principally on: 1) Working with members of the Grill lab to perform experiments to evaluate how genes of interest affect neuron development and function in C. elegans, a non-parasitic nematode.

Experience working with C. elegans is not required but is valuable. The successful candidate will report directly to Dr. Grill and will be trained by and work with members of the Grill lab research team. The ideal candidate will have a driving sense of scientific curiosity and an active interest in scientific research. Candidates with a long-term career goal of future doctoral training are encouraged to apply. The candidate's work will have the potential to contribute to scientific research publications.

Job duties will include: 1) working with C. elegans (non-parasitic nematode), 2) learning and performing CRISPR gene editing,  3) PCR based genotyping, 4) contributing to basic lab infrastructural duties. 

  

Required Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in biology, microbiology, biochemistry, immunology, molecular biology, or related field.
At least one (1) year of experience in a laboratory/research setting and/or experience with molecular biology and biochemistry techniques.

Compensation Range

$22.58 - $33.87 per hour

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
