JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Institute for Personalized Medicine in Hershey, PA is seeking a Research Project Manager to oversee the operation of a CLIA certified genomics testing laboratory.

This person will be responsible for validating genome based clinical tests for the special hematology clinic, which will be used to diagnosis patients in the clinic to determine the appropriate treatment strategy. This person will also be responsible for implementing the test through collaboration with the pathology department for ordering and billing. This manager will also explore development of other genome based tests to be used in this clinic as well as in other clinical settings. Finally, the person will participate in a NIDDK funded program to collect, store and distribute samples acquired from multiple institutions studying pancreatitis.

Typical Education & Experience

4+ years related experience

Master's Degree or higher

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

It is preferred that candidates have at least a Masters Degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics or a related field and at least ten years’ experience in wet bench molecular biology, preferably in a CLIA setting.

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check  
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
