About the role
Acumen LLC has multiple positions available for the position of Research Operations Analyst in Burlingame, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Create content and resources that support the company's research in health, economic, and social policy. Develop and institutionalize internal resources, knowledge, examples, standards, processes, and tools for the research staff. Create and maintain documentation, research files, and programs, for general use by researchers. Identify, scope, and prioritize research needs by working with research teams. Research, interpret, and communicate project specifications. Identify best practices, processes, and structures for research products. Provide operational support for research teams and ensure the teams fulfill their responsibilities. Organize, track, and document team activities, as well as coordinate with external parties and other groups at the company. Track interactions with researchers, project steps, and takeaways through Excel and other software management systems with the goal of gathering data that will be used to make informed decisions about how the company can operate more effectively. Ensure the accuracy, quality, and usability of resources and assist with their maintenance and distribution. Use internal and external resources to conduct independent research and summarizes findings. Gather information from multiple sources through background interviews and research, and then synthesize and evaluate that information to develop meaningful written conclusions. Draft and edit summaries, reports, presentations, and communications for Research Operations. Telecommuting Permitted.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Public Policy, Economics, or related field. 2 years of experience in job offered or related occupation.
Must have experience in:
- Experience developing best practices and leading teams in at least one of the following disciplines: research, consulting, knowledge management, project management, or strategic planning.
- Experience creating research files from source datasets, and analyzing data to address specific questions.
- Experience researching and communicating research project specifications, and coordinating across different entities using email, videoconferencing, instant messaging, and leading meetings.
- Proficiency using any of the following industry software: ArcGIS, Dedoose, Qualtrics, Mattermost, Docketscope.
- Proficiency using any of these tools for evaluations: Jira, Smartsheet, and Confluence.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Visual Basics for Applications, Macros, with knowledge of SAS, R, and Python functionality and use cases.
