HOACNY provides cancer care services, Monday through Friday, at three convenient locations in East Syracuse, Syracuse and Auburn. The Research Data Coordinator is responsible for managing and submitting data for assigned patients, checking research admits and obits daily, assisting research staff and lab with research study specimens, monitoring quality assurance for department, screening for eligible patients and various other duties as requested.

Requirements

Knowledge of the methods and procedures of health data systems and medical records coding, classification, indexing, quality control, and assessment. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology sufficient to review and develop procedures used in health data records. Skill in identifying and resolving problematic situations. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, patients, and the public. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to exercise initiative, judgment and decision-making in meeting clinic objectives. Ability to prepare and maintain detailed records, files, reports, and other correspondence.


Education: Bachelor's Degree.

Experience:

· Two years experience in a clinical research or oncology environment preferred.

· Two years medical experience with medical terminology familiarity preferred
