Summary:
The Research Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all study related activities in DC, especially recruitment and retention of participants with Gulf War Illness during the course of the study. These subjects will be recruited primarily from the greater Washington DC area and will need to be scheduled and tracked through various appointments. Some participants will need to have travel and housing arrangements made in Boston, MA for imaging, which will be the responsibility of the coordinator. We are seeking a person with research experience and preferably an advanced degree in a health-related field.
Essential Functions:

1.) Project Management and Supervision
Maintain coordination with the other clinical research coordinator, with regular communication with all team members.
Ensure that all daily activities related to the project are completed in a timely and effective manner.
Prepare project timelines and identify key tasks of the project.
Recruit subjects and coordinate study visit schedules, housing and transportation, as well as providing study visit reminders to subjects.
2.) Data Management
Contribute to the creation of instruments, publications, materials, grant deliverables, and proposals.
Collect, enter, clean, and manage data; create codebooks; and conduct basic analyses. May require learning new methods, techniques, and software.
Monitor the progress of research activities and develops and maintains records of research activities.
Participate in project activities as needed, including meetings, site visits, conferences, and seminars.
Obtain, synthesize, and summarize large amounts of interdisciplinary information.
Maintain and develop an understanding of emerging issues, trends, and best practices related to assigned projects by monitoring current research, legislation, policy, and other products.
Execute or oversee the secure transmission and management of data.
Ensure research project tasks and duties are performed in a timely manner (according to timelines and deadlines) and with a high degree of quality.
Additional project support and oversight as needed.
3.) Lab Management
Assists the PI in managing the schedules for students working in the lab. Ensures maintenance of equipment and restocking of supplies in the lab.

Salary Range:
$26.47- $27.47 per hour.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
35 hours per week.
This is a grant-funded position which is expected to go from Aug. 18th, 2024 to Dec 19th, 2025.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree.
1-3 years of relevant experience.
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and web-based content management and social media systems.
Experience with statistical software (e.g., SAS, SPSS).
