Job Summary
This position is responsible for making custom multiplex immunoassay products in the Biomarker Immunoassay group. The Research Associate will be working with an experienced scientist and will be involved in all aspects of custom assay production processes including planning, manufacturing, testing, troubleshooting, optimizing and product order fulfilment. The customized products are an indispensable part of our bead-based immunoassay product portfolio and are complementary to the on shelf products.
These products may allow simultaneously detection of up to 13 important biomarkers for inflammatory diseases, cancer, cardiovascular disease or neuron degenerative disease and will be very useful tools for the biomedical research community. This position is a great opportunity for gaining working experiences in a fast-paced biotech industrial environment.
Essential Functions

- Under proper supervision, execute the relevant tasks to complete an order based on customer’s request.
- Assign beads IDs to targets and plan for any new materials as needed;
- Perform beads conjugation and possibly new biotinylation
- Prepare multiplexed beads, detection cocktails and lyophilize protein standard if needed
- Test and optimize assay conditions, design relevant experiments to trouble-shoot
- Transfer the final optimized products to bottling and assembly for order fulfillment
- Document production and testing activity and making batch records following SOPs under ISO13485:2016 guidelines
- Work with manufacturing and bottling group to ensure proper product transfer and final QC
- Actively planning for stock or raw materials for future production.
- Assist with customer support by performing trouble-shooting experiments when needed
- Complete other tasks assigned by supervisor in a timely manner
Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience
- BS in a biology, chemistry or other related field
- Minimum 1 year hands-on experience with immunoassays or other relevant wet lab experiences
Preferred Qualifications – Education and Experience
- Working experience in a manufacturing or product development setting in compliance with ISO9001/ISO14835 standards would be a plus.
