Research Assistant - Neuroscience and Cognition

CFD Research is seeking a highly skilled Research Assistant to join an innovative research team focusing on neuroscience for military applications. The ideal candidate will support principal investigators in executing research protocols, managing data collection, and operating specialized equipment for cognition studies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with design and implementation of research protocols related to neuroscience and military medicine
• Set up, calibrate, and operate brain imaging equipment for data collection
• Perform data collection, processing, and preliminary analysis using Python and R
• Maintain detailed documentation of research protocols and procedures
• Coordinate research activities with other team members and external collaborators
• Ensure compliance with research ethics and security protocols
• Support logistics for research projects including inventory management and resource allocation
• Prepare materials for presentations, publications, and grant applications

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
• Demonstrable programming experience in Python and R Studio
• Previous research assistant experience in a laboratory setting
• Experience in research data collection and protocol documentation
• Familiarity with military medicine concepts and terminology
• Logistics or project management experience
• Active Secret security clearance
• Proficiency in the set-up and utilization of brain imaging equipment (EEG, fMRI, etc.)
• Experience working in the neuroscience field

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• 2+ years of experience in neuroscience research
• Experience with military health systems or veteran healthcare
• Knowledge of cognition studies, cognitive measurements, and/or military training and simulation
• Experience with IRB protocols and human subjects research
