Salary/Position Classification

  • $19-$20 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
  • Hours will vary but will not exceed 19/week. hours per week
  • 100% Remote Work Availability: Yes
  • Hybrid Work Availability: Yes

Purpose of Position

This research assistant will support investigators in various research-related activities, providing essential assistance for grant activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with participant recruitment, community outreach and preparation of recruitment materials for a community-based participatory action research project
  • Support participant orientation sessions
  • Coordinate and support data collection activities, including interviews and focus groups
  • Support qualitative data analysis
  • Assist with photo exhibition preparation and coordination
  • Maintain organized research documentation
  • Assist with literature reviews, reference management and manuscript/presentation preparation
  • Assist in preparing and submitting IRB applications
  • Assist in preparing and submitting grant proposals
  • Attend meetings with PI and other colleagues, as needed

Required Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of organizational skills to assist with research activities in a timely manner
  • Creativity in thinking and initiative
  • Ability to interact well with diverse populations, including faculty and staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, public health, nursing, biology, criminal justice, law or a related discipline (Summer 2026 graduates will be considered)
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
