What we want  

The part-time Research Assistant performs skilled, administrative, and managerial support in research. Plans and directs certain phases in research projects under the direction of direct supervisor. Supports the implementation of projects, processes and analyses data, and performs administrative and managerial support in research.

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.

Required Education and Experience

  • Appropriate bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of laboratory maintenance and equipment

  • Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position

  • Ability to work independently once given a project

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet

  • Basic knowledge of working with rodents in a laboratory setting

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Preferred Qualifications

  • BA, BS or Masters in neuroscience, neurobiology, behavioral sciences

  • At least 2 years' relevant professional experience including at least 1 year experience working with rodents in behavioral neuroscience

  • Experience performing survival surgeries

  • Experience performing administrative and managerial support in research laboratory

  • Experience working with individuals and communities

  • Expertise conducting rodent behavioral experiments

  • Ability to analyze rodent experiment behavioral data
