What You’ll Do:
Acts as a liaison between the customer and Account Management.
Solicit freight orders from assigned customer base via a multitude of communication exchanges on a daily basis, commensurate with company and business level needs.
Schedule/reschedule pickup appointments for all tendered loads from the customer(s).
Plan tendered freight and update any customer-provided reporting systems.
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to generate the highest level of freight order volumes.
Monitor available communication exchanges continuously for receipt of freight load orders to accept available loads.
Contact customer(s) proactively providing them with shipment status. Seek alternate solutions with available resources in the event of a service deviation including change of pick up or delivery appointments.
Inform customers of the status of deliveries including in some cases updating of the customer web sites or EDI exchanges.Contact Account Management whenever it appears likely that USX may not meet a commitment and seek alternate truck assignment for the load or other solutions to prevent a service failure to the customer(s).
Record and notate customer complaints regarding freight orders. Remedy customer complaints regarding USX service to maximize customer satisfaction.
Communicate customer(s) metrics internally.
Enter pick-up and delivery information specified by the customer(s) into a TMS or assign pickup and delivery window into a TMS when customer(s) does not specify appointment times.
Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

Education
Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.

Experience
Minimum of 0 – 2 years’ experience in customer service preferred.
Experience in the transportation industry a plus.
Experience working in a deadline driven environment preferred.

Skills/Certifications
Basic communication skills and common courtesy; ability to exchange information effectively in a concise and logical way and be sensitive to audience diversity.
Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office, Internet, and applicable company specific applications).

Work Environment / Physical Requirements – Normal office settings.
