Job Summary:
The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Renaissance Scholars Program Coordinator will provide lead work direction, the student assistant will assist the program staff in a variety of tasks assisting our current and former foster youth s they transition into the university and through graduation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Under Immediate Supervision, in collaboration of the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Renaissance Scholars Program Coordinator who will provide lead work direction, duties include but not limited to:
- Serve as a mentor to support junior and senior-level Renaissance Scholars preparing to graduate from the university
- Complete Transitional Assessment sheet through Qualtrics with each assigned student.
- 7 Life Domains Assessment on a referral basis
- Work with RSP students on academic probation
- Assist in creating and establishing Career Portfolio for seniors
- Assist in establishing, in consultation with the RSP team, intervention plans to assist students experiencing academic and or personal difficulties and make appropriate referrals to on and off campus resources.
- Document all student interactions, including contacts, referrals, and follow-up activities for reporting and evaluation purposes.
- Assist with the planning of RSP events, social and cultural enrichment activities, and community service projects.
- Aid in the development and of proposed RSP projects (i.e. Career Development, Financial Literacy, Community Service Projects, Freshman/Graduate Workshops)
- Participate in RSP staff meetings, trainings, workshops, webinars, and community advocacy group meetings, if applicable.
- Participate in outreach and recruitment for the RSP, if applicable.
- Participate and help plan for quarterly Southern California Higher Education Foster Youth Consortium (SCHEFYC) meetings.
- Greet visitors and answer questions.
- Participate in weekly individual supervision meetings with the EOP Renaissance Scholars Program Coordinator.
- Participate in, assist in planning, and leading weekly RSP mentor meetings
- Participate in meetings with the Inland Empire Foster Youth College Collaborative
Minimum Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
- Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
- Special Qualification: Admission or registration as a CSU student.
Required Qualifications
- Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
- Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
- International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Payroll Requirement: Social Security Card
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Foster Care System.
- Currently enrolled in a Master of Social Work (MSW) program
- Preference: Emphasis in child welfare (Title IV-E).
- Must be skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Have knowledge of the Foster Care System
Compensation and Benefits:
Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $16.50 per hour.
The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.
Position Information:
Work status: Part-Time, Temporary, Seasonal

Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).
