The hourly rate for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience, education, licensure, and certifications.
Join our incredible team at South Corona Pet Hospital as the next great step in your career. We are looking to add a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to our team. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, detail-oriented team player who loves animals and is part of a fun, supportive team. They will have experience rooming patients, a willingness to learn and expand their career, knowledge of equipment used, drawing blood and running bloodwork, knowledge of x-rays and proper positioning, experience with proper animal handling and restraint, understanding the importance of client education, and being a positive and supportive team member.

Requirements:
- 2+ years of veterinary experience
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Obtaining accurate and thorough medical histories
- TPR
- Blood draws (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular)
- Placing IV catheters
- Digital radiology, including positioning
- Dentistry (digital x-rays, scaling, polishing)
- Anesthesia (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique)
- Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; Sedivue
- Excellent client communication/education
- Availability to occasionally work uncommon hours and overtime and to be recalled in emergencies.
- Excellent animal-handling skills
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in the time allotted without direct supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to show empathy toward clients and treat animals with respect and compassion.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- A commitment to outstanding client service.
- Ability to lift objects weighing 50 pounds without assistance and objects weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to stay on task and work energetically for the entire shift, sometimes exceeding 10 hours per day.
Qualifications
Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred – or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
