Qualifications

  • Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
  • ADN/BSN
  • Minimum of two years professional nursing experience in a clinic or hospital environment, preferably pre-op/post-op and or surgery center.
  • Knowledge of acute and chronic protocols, administration of medications, delivering physical care following the treatment plan
  • Skill in analyzing, interpreting a medical record, and gathering and analyzing physiological, socioeconomic, and emotional patient data.

Essential Functions

  • Provides general nursing care to patients in the clinic. Administers medications per standing orders/medications written by a physician. Practices within the Registered Nurse scope.
  • Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Prepares equipment and assists physician during treatment
    and examination of patients. 
  • Observes, records and reports change in patient’s medical condition, informs physician immediately, and follows through
    Educates patient/family about procedures and medications. 
  • Ensures patients displaying a change in medical condition are given immediate attention and priority.
  • Maintains/reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Ensures pre-op phone calls are made to patients and that these patients fully meet protocol for a procedure scheduled.
  • Responds to /refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medication and treatment instructions.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing medical care to include assessing and managing patients following established standards and practices.
