The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and working closely with internal teams to deliver tailored mechanical solutions with clients throughout southern New England.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain exiting service and design build clients throughout service territory.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets including commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, developers, engineers, architects, and facility managers.
Present and promote company capabilities in the design, service, fabrication, and installation of mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, piping, plumbing, custom fabrication).
Collaborate with estimating, engineering, and project management teams to prepare proposals and ensure client requirements are met.
Conduct site visits, attend industry events, and represent the company at trade shows and networking functions.
Track sales activity, prepare forecasts, and report progress to senior leadership.
Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
QualificationsEducation and Experience:
3–5+ years of technical sales experience in the mechanical or construction industry
Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is a plus
Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably in the mechanical contracting, service or construction industry.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, plumbing, or related fields) and project lifecycle from design through installation.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications is a plus.
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently.
Proficient in CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and general business applications.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned region.
Work Environment:
This role will require daily travel within RI & MA. Work is performed indoors in a professional office environment and outdoors and is subject to extreme weather conditions, humidity, odors, and loud noises. May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces and enter dusty environments.
Positions Type and Expected hours of Work:
Workday is based on 8-hour day between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Job duties will consist of being able to work nights and weekends to attend different related industry functions from time to time.
