Description
The HVAC Field Training Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the technical, professional, and sales competency of the technician team. The position will play an instrumental role that leads to higher customer satisfaction, increased sales, fewer callbacks, and enhanced overall company reputation.
Essential Responsibilities include, but may be not limited to:
- On-the-Job Training: Conduct training sessions directly in the field, providing real-time feedback and demonstrating proper techniques, best practices, and sales strategies.
- Technical and Sales Support: Serve as a technical and sales expert for HVAC technicians, troubleshooting complex problems while guiding them on how to effectively communicate service and product options to customers. Educate Technicians on identifying opportunities for insulation services during HVAC maintenance or repair visits.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor technicians' work to ensure that it meets company standards and complies with industry regulations. Conduct inspections to assess the quality of installations, repairs, maintenance, and customer interactions.
- Sales Training: Educate technicians on selling HVAC and insulation services, including how to identify customer needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and present service options in a way that builds trust. Teach upselling techniques and how to effectively explain the benefits of additional services or products. Ensure Technicians work closely with the sales team to facilitate smooth transitions from field services to in-home sales consultations.
- Safety Oversight: Emphasize the importance of safety protocols, provide training on safety procedures, and ensure compliance.
- Documentation and Reporting: Keep detailed records of training progress, report on technicians’ skill development, and identify areas where additional technical or sales training is needed.
- Mentoring and Development: Offer ongoing mentorship, help technicians improve their technical skills, customer service abilities, sales techniques, and overall job performance.
- Training Program Development: Develop and refine training materials, manuals, and hands-on courses tailored to the needs of new and existing technicians, including modules focused on sales skills.
Requirements
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and tools. Understanding of installation, repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and how to explain technical details to customers. Demonstrated ability to train and mentor other technicians in insulation installation and sales techniques.
- Sales Acumen: Knowledge of HVAC sales strategies, customer psychology, and the ability to train technicians on identifying opportunities to upsell or recommend additional services.
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly explain technical concepts, sales techniques, provide constructive feedback, and handle interpersonal dynamics within the team.
- Leadership: Strong supervisory skills to motivate, mentor, and manage a group of technicians with varied experience levels.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Aptitude for diagnosing complex issues and guiding technicians to effective solutions, both technically and in sales.
- Time Management: Skill in balancing administrative responsibilities with hands-on technical and sales training in the field.
- Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the HVAC industry.
- Ability to travel as needed between Southern California and Northern California
