Purpose of the position

Reporting to the Field Sales Director, you will be responsible for leading a territory team expanding SMARTs presence in the Education sector through partnering with the Channel and strategic end users. As the “pod” leader, you will help coordinate activities of your team of Education Sales Consultants (ESC’s) to ensure SMART revenue and market share grow.

You will develop a go to market plan based on the SMART product portfolio and the goals associated with them. As the “pod” leader, you will share and help execute the strategy for growth and be responsible for meeting and exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets assigned to your “pod”.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales "pod" to deliver revenue targets for a specified geographic area
  • Establish and drive the strategy for the “pod” territory working with team of ESC’s, Inside Sales, Demand Generation, and Adopt teams
  • Delivering sales acumen training and coordinating product knowledge messaging for members of the POD and make sure they have the skillset to be successful in their role.
  • Facilitate feedback to product management and product marketing teams on ongoing basis
  • Support and work with ESC team to support customer-focused and channel-focused events as needed
  • Provide competitive intelligence to relevant internal teams
  • Own the forecast for the “pod” territory with input from the channel teams.
  • Managing the special pricing process and coordinating the execution of DR, special pricing and sale programs with the Channel team.
  • Lead monthly Business Reviews with SMART Leadership providing key updates from the territory
  • Lead the team as they consistently update opportunities and activities in Salesforce ensuring CRM hygiene
  • Lead bi-weekly territory review calls with the “pod” members. Reviews to include district updates; key win/loss reviews; share best practices; and updates on sales to targets.
  • Work with the channel team to provide support for onsite demonstrations for large customer opportunities
  • Managing the bid process for the team
  • Monitoring market and competitor activities, and providing relevant reports and information
  • Performing other duties as required

Education and work experience

  • Degree in business, marketing, or a related field
  • Experience as a SMART Education Sales Consultant or SMART Channel Manager
  • At least three years' experience in sales with a successful, fast-paced, technology-driven business
  • Proven aptitude for developing relationships with key decision makers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving abilities
  • A high level of self-motivation
  • Strong time-management, record-keeping, and planning skills
  • A valid passport, or no impediment to obtaining one

Supervision

  • This position has direct reports

Working conditions

  • Home-based role, fast-paced work environment in North America
  • Open internally to SMART employees only
  • Travel up to 50% of time depending on the time of year
