The Regional Director, Medical Science Liaisons will be responsible for building, leading, and supporting the US MSL Hematology/Allergy field team for the West region. You will work collaboratively along with the National MSL Director and VP of Medical Affairs to establish long term vision, strategy, plans, objectives, and culture of the company’s first field organization in the US and subsequently hire and manage a team of high performing MSLs. Reporting into the National Director of MSLs, you will develop strategic business plans in concert with Medical Affairs and appropriate cross-functional partners and will be accountable for the successful implementation of Medical Affairs Strategies at the field level. You will also be responsible for representing the Medical Affairs team, both internally and externally, as a clinical expert supporting potential product launches and ongoing pipeline development.
What will you do?
- Build, manage, and DEVELOP a high performing, collaborative field MSL team
- Work with the National Director to develop and execute US external engagement strategies in alignment with the overall Medical Affairs plan
- Evaluate and direct MSL activities, including research activities, educational activities, interactions with healthcare providers and other relevant stakeholders and collaborations with cross-functional partners
- Support the development of the MSL onboarding and training curriculum and materials
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide reports of MSL activities to National Director
- Work with Medical Affairs leadership to help develop a comprehensive, national and regional congress plan
- Collaborate with the Commercial team to ensure a seamless and compliant relationship that maximizes the safe and appropriate use of Blueprint Medicines therapies among KOLs and community HCPs, including optimal alignment of field resources for delivering on therapeutic area goals and objectives
- Collaborate with the leadership of the Precision Medicine Executive team to ensure alignment on high-level strategic objectives and share best practices/resources
- Provide scientific guidance and participate in Medical Affairs activities such as: scientific congress/conference strategy and planning, advisory boards, medical education grant review, publications, medical information activities, health economics analyses, investigator-sponsored trial review and speaker training
- Ensure internal stakeholders are knowledgeable of KOL views and opinions as it pertains to Blueprint medicines products and relevant disease states
- Proactively coordinate field need for medical/scientific knowledge required for management and support of Blueprint medicines products in development, especially in providing support of clinical trial activities
- Support and provide feedback about the creation of clinical slide decks and other MSL resources to enhance scientific engagement with external professionals
- Conduct routine field visits with MSLs to assess performance and provide coaching in alignment with Blueprint guidelines and medical plan
- Provide leadership and mentoring to retain and develop top talent. Works to ensure that each MSL receives appropriate customized training and opportunities to achieve their full potential and career goals.

What minimum qualifications do we require?
- Advanced Clinical/Science degree or professional credentials required (MD/DO, PhD, PharmD, PA, NP, RN)
- 5+ years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry in Medical Affairs, with experience leading MSL teams and working with cross-functional in-house and field-based teams
- Extensive travel is required as part of this position (50%)
What additional qualifications will make you a stronger candidate?
- Oncology, Allergy or Rare Disease experience strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
