Summary
A Refueling Team Member will operate and maintain the equipment used for the manipulation/inspection of new fuel, spent fuel, and other highly irradiated core components.
Minimum Requirements
Three (3) years commercial or military nuclear power experience involving maintenance or operation of equipment. Able to obtain/maintain certifications/qualifications for overhead crane operation (ANSI b2.0 - 1978) and respirator usage (PVNGS Controls). Able to obtain/maintain unescorted protected areas access and NRC clearance.
Testing Requirement: EEI MASS Test administered. (Meets or exceeds the requirements of ANSI/ANS 3.1, 1978, 4.5.3.)
Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. This is a condition of employment at PVNGS. Roles and Responsibilities defined in Policy 1503 and implementing policy guide are applicable to all PVNGS employees.
Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
This position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120 ) (collectively, U.S. Export Control Laws). Therefore, this position requires applicants to be a U.S. person, which is defined as a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), a Political Asylee, or a Refugee under the U.S. Export Control Laws. Major Accountabilities
1) Completes operational and maintenance activities on all refuel associated machinery and equipment. Qualified to perform either electrical, mechanical or I&C troubleshooting, testing and maintenance on all refueling associated equipment. Qualified as an equipment operator for the Refueling Machine, Spent Fuel Handling Machine, Transfer Machine and CEA Change Platform.
2) Installs and tests modifications to tools and equipment.
3) Performs activities related to Reactor Vessel Internal inspections to include underwater foreign matter retrieval from all areas.
4) Removes and transfers the reactor vessel surveillance capsules to the spent fuel pool and package for offsite shipment.
5) Provides field level input to engineers regarding improvements/enhancements to complete activities more efficiently and effectively.
6) Attends all required training necessary to maintain qualifications and satisfy administrative training requirements.
