Recycling Maintenance Foreman

Recycling Maintenance Foreman is responsible for assisting management in overseeing a group of maintenance technicians. The primary accountability of this position is to safely maximize equipment reliability and uptime in a safe and timely manner. This is a working foreman position responsible for repairing and maintaining all facets of recycling equipment. 

 

Responsibilities of Position:

•  Assist management with the daily activities of maintenance technicians.
•  Assist management in conducting maintenance technician observations.
•  Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceeded.
•  Ensure proper PPE is utilized by employees and compliance with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures is adhered to consistently.
•  Provide assistance, guidance, and training to less experienced maintenance technicians.
•  Ensure daily work completion and all productivity goals are met or exceeded.
•  Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company and OSHA standards.
•  Perform preventative maintenance and repair duties as assigned.
•  Perform fabrication and repair on conveyors and component parts, as necessary.
•  Makes necessary repairs and adjustments to Industrial Balers, Disk Screener, and other Plant equipment.
•  Works without supervision on complex projects and repairs.
•  Input of data into company maintenance and inventory tracking system.
•  Other Duties as assigned.

 

Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:

• Ability to troubleshoot and make repairs to control wiring. 
• Must posses the decision-making ability to determine the level of hazard, proper PPE, and job planning to safely perform the task. 
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with                  
• customers,  clients, co-workers, and management. 
• Maintain an excellent attendance record and an excellent safety and work quality record.

 

Physical Requirements in a Regular workday:

• Frequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 20lbs.
• Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 50lbs.
• Frequently walking/standing.
• Occasionally stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
• Occasionally Climbing and/or balancing
• Continuously Working outside in changing temperatures.
• Continuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, other airborne matter
• Continuously working outside.

 

Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:

• Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.
• Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
• Ability to travel between offices, as required.
• Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
• Must be available for 24-hour emergency calls.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
• Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
• Must be able to read and speak the English language.
