Recycling Facility Machine Mechanic-Passaic, NJ

Atlantic Coast Recycling is looking to expand our Maintenance Team with another Machine Mechanic in Passaic, NJ.

We are looking for a skilled Machine Mechanic to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot equipment at our recycling facility. The mechanic will ensure all machines operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Pay for this role will be $31-$36/hr based on relevant experience.

Responsibilities:
• Inspect, maintain, and repair recycling machinery (conveyors, balers, shredders, sorters, etc.).
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform timely repairs.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all facility equipment.
• Keep detailed maintenance and repair records.
• Collaborate with operations staff to minimize equipment downtime.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements:
• Previous experience working with industrial or heavy machinery (preferably in recycling, manufacturing, or similar industries).
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Basic electrical knowledge is a plus.
• Must be able to lift heavy parts and work in a physically demanding environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred.
