About the role

Our mission at SmugMug and Flickr is simple: building a better world through the power of photography. We do that by creating the tools, services, and communities that today’s photographers need to thrive.

As a privately owned, mission-focused, and values-driven company, we invest in the growth and well-being of our people first and foremost. Your work here is more than a job—we’re out to leave a positive, lasting impact on our photography communities and, through them, the world.

As a recruiting associate, you’ll be an ambassador to our candidates, interviewers, and hiring managers and support the recruiting team throughout the full-cycle recruiting process. You’ll play an integral role in contributing to an efficient hiring process that supports the hiring of talented and diverse employees throughout all departments companywide. This role comes with tremendous growth opportunities and a clear path to becoming a full-cycle recruiter.

Your opportunity:

  • Join our recruiting team, provide overall support to ensure we’re hiring the right people, and maintain a dynamic and inclusive program.
  • Work closely with the recruiting manager to learn and develop the necessary skills to grow into a full-cycle recruiter role.
  • Provide an inclusive and warm candidate experience, ensuring candidates are treated with respect throughout the process.
  • Become proficient with our applicant tracking system and other systems used throughout our people team organization.
  • Build relationships with hiring managers and interview panels across all departments to facilitate the recruiting process.
  • Collaborate with the larger team to identify trends and transform them into action to improve our candidate experience.
  • Contribute to the overall process improvement of the larger recruiting program.
  • Partner with the People Operations team to ensure a successful onboarding experience for new hires.

Day to day:

  • Oversee and manage openings of new roles within our ATS.
  • Engage in the coordinating and scheduling for all interviews across multiple time zones, ensuring all interviews are coordinated and essential information is provided to candidates and interviewers.
  • Maintain, organize, and keep all records up to date in our ATS system.
  • Prepare and run reports across several of our systems and tracking interview data.
  • Grow and own the full-cycle (inclusive of sourcing candidates and actively recruiting) recruiting process and start to recruit within the first year.
  • Manage the background-check process, initiate visa cases, and ensure new-hire data integrity between our ATS and HRIS.

What you bring:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • A growth mind-set and desire to develop the following skills:
    • Owning the full-cycle recruitment processes, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offering for various levels of roles.
  • The ability to work autonomously and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a remote environment.
  • Creative approach to problem solving.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented, resourceful, and process-driven.
  • The ability to embrace ambiguity and adapt quickly to changes.
  • Extraordinarily high EQ and self-awareness.
  • A value and dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • A desire or a willingness to work on a small team.
  • Strong time-management skills.

Beyond the skills:

  • Role reports to the recruiting manager.
  • We use Greenhouse, PayScale, LinkedIn Recruiter, GoodTime, Canva, Google Suite, and Slack. (If you don’t have experience in these specific systems,  you can learn with us!)
  • About the team: We’re a small but mighty team of eight that’s responsible for ensuring this is the best job our people will ever have. We work hard to create an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive. We love to learn, collaborate, and support each other as we continue to raise the bar on what “people first” means.

While recruiting experience is helpful, it’s not required for this role. We encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply.
