Summary Description: Reporting to the Distribution Center Assistant Manager and the Distribution Center Manager, the Receiving Supervisor oversees the daily activities of the receiving department. This position monitors receiving of all inbound/outbound freight and all products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Proactively identifies issues and implements corrective actions
- Manages and trains all administrative aspects of receiving product
- Coordinates logistics of inbound/outbound freight
- Be able to perform all aspects of delivery, and all receiving department operations
- Supervise a staff to receive all shipments of merchandise from vendors to be tagged and distributed to our stores
- Scheduling, receiving, documenting, and organizing the storage of all incoming merchandise
- Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment in the warehouse area
- Supervise a staff to put away all shipments of merchandise from vendors
- Other duties as may be assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Supervisory experience required
- High school diploma/college preferred
- Warehouse shipping/receiving background experience preferred
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills, and self-motivation
- Must be able to lift 50lbs repeatedly
- Heavy lifting of items in excess of 200 pounds with group assistance
- Must have good customer service skills
- Warehouse shipping/receiving background experience preferred
- Advanced computer skills and experience operating handheld scanners
- English fluency both written and verbal
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as necessary
