DEN’s Division of Real Estate supports the airport’s core aviation mission by capitalizing on DEN’s size, opportunity for growth and centralized location, to create innovative, sustainable, and economically beneficial commercial development of the airport’s non-aviation land. Today Denver International Airport (DEN) announced record passenger and cargo traffic data for 2024. Specifically, DEN served 82,358,744 passengers during the year, a 5.8% increase over the 77,837,917 passengers served in 2023, the previous record.DEN is located both at the center of the United States and at the global midpoint between Tokyo and Frankfurt. Nonstop flights from Denver reach most major U.S. markets in three and a half hours or less, and standard business hours overlap with those of multiple international time zones. This location provides a strategic advantage for cultivating domestic and international partnerships and attracting worldwide investors.  

Reporting to the Director of Real Estate, the DEN Real Estate Business Development Manager plays an integral role in defining, attracting, and retaining tenants on DEN land as well as representing DEN's real estate development efforts in the broader community.  

What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $102,000.00 - $159,000.00. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but is not limited to:

Location

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. In office day’s location is 26100 E 68th Ave Suite 240, Aurora, CO 80019, Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

What You’ll Do

With approximately 53 square miles of land area, Denver International Airport (DEN) has the second largest land ownership of any airport in the world. DEN has the land area available to cost-effectively expand its airfield from its six existing runways to twelve runways at full buildout, with the ultimate ability to serve more than 100 million passengers annually. Even after expansion of airport operations to full buildout, an additional 16,000+ acres of non-aviation land remain available for compatible commercial development.  

The Business Development Manager will help to define optimal target user groups for DEN, develop relationships with target tenants, produce and manage relevant marketing materials, and track tenant prospecting status. Additionally, the Business Development Manager will frequently attend industry events and meet with stakeholders to make them aware of real estate development opportunities at DEN. 

Specifically, as the Business Development Manager you will:

  • Research industry clusters and regional/national tenant supply and demand drivers. Identifying potential markets, trends, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.  

  • Define target groups and companies which would be appropriate for development/tenancy on DEN land. Proactively reaching out to potential clients through networking, cold calling, email campaign
