Reach Stacker Operator (45t)

Essential Duties:

•    Operate reach stackers to lift, move, and stack containers in ports, terminals, and storage yards.
•    Use hand and foot controls to maneuver the reach stacker and position containers accurately.
•    Secure containers using twist locks, chains, or other securing devices to prevent shifting during transportation.
•    Follow loading and unloading plans to ensure efficient container handling and minimize delays.
•    Communicate with supervisors, crane operators, and other team members to coordinate container movements and maintain workflow.
•    Conduct pre-operation inspections of the reach stacker to check for any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
•    Perform routine maintenance on the reach stacker, such as checking fluid levels, greasing moving parts, and inspecting hydraulic systems.
•    Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to prevent accidents and injuries.
•    Report any equipment malfunctions, accidents, or incidents to the appropriate personnel and follow company procedures for documenting and reporting incidents.
•    Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reach stacker and surrounding work area.
 

Requirements

•    Proven experience as a reach stacker operator or similar role.
•    Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
•    Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness (Dover test).
•    Certification or training in reach stacker operation preferred.
•    Strong knowledge of operating reach stackers and familiarity with container handling procedures.
•    Ability to interpret and follow loading and unloading plans.
•    Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
•    Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks such as operating controls and sitting for extended periods.
•    Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
•    Attention to detail and a commitment to safety at all times.
